FOOTBALL legend Peter Beardsley launched a drive to raise cash for the region's premature babies yesterday.
The former Newcastle, Liverpool and England striker is backing the Black and White Party taking place in Gosforth Park Hotel, Newcastle, next month, in aid of Tiny Lives.
Mr Beardsley, now a youth coach at Newcastle United, and his wife, Sandra, are patrons of the charity, which supports the special care baby unit at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary.
The party takes place on Friday, June 20.
