THIRTEEN members of Darlington's Crown Street Reading Group for the Visually Impaired and five helpers will find out what is involved in creating a book for visually impaired people today.
The group will be joined by staff from the main library on a visit to the Whitley Bay studios of talking book organisation Soundings.
The coach journey to the studios is being funded by Darlington's Lifelong Learning team.
The Crown Street group was established in June 2001 and meets monthly.
Senior library assistant Jennifer Moutrey said: "The group is great fun and growing all the time. At the meetings we try to introduce members to something different - books they perhaps would not have normally listened to."
