A PACKED events programme is being lined up for the 15th annual Sunderland International Airshow.
Organisers plan to announce the full itinerary next month, but have already confirmed that old favourites The Red Arrows will be back performing over the North-East coast.
The RAF's acrobatic display team can be seen on both days of what is now Europe's biggest airshow, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27.
As with previous years, the airshow will centre on the skies over the twin resorts of Seaburn and Roker, with events from 10am to 6pm each day.
Sue Henderson, the airshow's events co-ordinator, said: "Over the past 15 years, the airshow has grown beyond recognition from a small one-day event to an action-packed weekend of family fun attracting huge crowds.
"We are planning an extra special line-up to thrill the crowds, both in the air and on the ground, to celebrate 15 wonderful years of the airshow."
Showgoers are promised a mix of new acts, as well as more familiar performers.
Ms Henderson said: "We are delighted that The Red Arrows will be helping us to celebrate this special 15th airshow on both Saturday and Sunday.
"They are legendary and I am sure that their breathtaking stunts and manoeuvres will delight the crowds as always."
Returning this year will be the members of the Royal Jordanian Falcons, whose visit last year was hailed by visitors as one of the highlights of the show.
