PLANS to create an outdoor skateboarding park will be discussed by councillors this week.
Members of Stockton Borough Council's planning committee have received an application to change the use of an industrial unit in Martinet Road within the Thornaby Airfield Industrial Estate.
Developers hope to use the site as an extension to an existing skateboard park, run by Action Packed Entertainment Limited, operating in a building nearby.
The interior would be used as a fast-food cafe and shop selling skateboards and cycling equipment.
The outside of the building would be used for skateboarding and would include the construction of dirt jumps and ramps.
Residents are concerned the development, if granted, would lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour and they have asked for a site visit before any decision is made.
Councillors have also requested a site visit, and the planning committee will meet on Friday to discuss the issue
