STUDENT Ben Gill was the quizmaster of a game show which aimed to give residents in Marske an insight into plans for a wind turbine at Bydales School.
Year eight student Ben and three-a-side teams, representing the Downwind and Upwind ends of the argument for and against the possible development will stage a public meeting in the school on Wednesday, June 4.
Redcar and ClevelandBorough Council is helping to promote the community involvement as the school assesses reaction to its vision of the wind turbine, which could power all the school's electricity needs during the next few decades.
Headteacher Tony Hobbs also sees the scheme as a key element of the school's ambitions to achieve specialist technology status and become an eco-school.
He said: "The year eight pupils devised the gameshow, Blow Me Away, which was a light-hearted, yet serious attempt to give our community a real insight into the proposal.
"We have already organised a questionnaire among parents about the project and we will be announcing the outcome of this activity on the night."
The council's energy advisor Carmel Corcoran said: "We need a positive reaction from the public meeting to give the school confidence to submit a planning application."
