Sixteen police recruits have been sworn in at a ceremony at North Yorkshire police headquarters, at Newby Wiske, near Northallerton.
A total of 85 recruits have joined the force in the past three months, taking its strength to 1,455.

SAFER PARKING: Security has been increased at the car park of York District Hospital, after an increase in car break-ins and thefts.
BEATING BULLIES: Pupils at Coppice Valley School, in Harrogate, will next month launch a leaflet called Let's Make This a Bully-Free Zone. It has been created by youngsters who took part in an anti-bullying workshop.
