FAMILIES are invited to help celebrate a station clock's restoration at a festival in its honour.
The free community event has been organised by the Friends of Tynemouth Station to thank those who have contributed to the clock's restoration.
Taking place at the station from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Monday, it will feature entertainment, including an excerpt from Peter Mortimer's play The Clockman, by Cloud Nine Theatre Company.
There will also be a performance of an original piece, The Mechanics of Time, by dance students at North Tyneside College, and members of the Community Arts Project Group will read poems on the theme of time every hour.
Visitors will be invited to take part in time-themed workshops and try out maypole dancing. There will also be stalls and a flea market.
John Grundy, president of the Friends, will unveil the newly-restored clock at noon.
