MOTORISTS travelling over the Tyne Bridge next week are warned to expect delays as roadworks on the south side of the river get under way.
From today, the A167 will be reduced from three lanes to two, between the railway bridge and the Oakwellgate roundabout in Gateshead.
The work will continue throughout the week and will finish next weekend.
The lane closures are to allow further work on modifications to the road network at the Gateshead end of the Tyne Bridge.
