AN active member of the community has been appointed to the board of a health trust.
Maureen Taylor-Gooby, who has lived and worked in the Peterlee area for most of her life, takes over as non-executive director of Easington Primary Care Trust (PCT).
A former teacher, she has served on the board of governors of Shotton Hall School for the past ten years and is also a long-standing member of Peterlee Town Council.
Mrs Taylor-Gooby said: "I am very excited about my new role on the board of Easington PCT.
"I believe that it is particularly important that the PCT continues to work in partnership with the local authority to address the health inequalities in the area."
