A BALLOON race involving ten primary schools was held yesterday to celebrate the first year of a road safety initiative.
Norah Cooney, Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, was at Whale Hill Primary School, Eston, for the lift-off to mark the anniversary of the Kerbcraft programme, which has involved 300 children from schools in South Bank, Eston, Grangetown, and Teesville.
The balloon which travels the furthest will earn prizes for the finder and child who released it.
