A football team from the North-East could make an outing on the silver screen, it has emerged.
Big-budget movie Goal! will tell the story of a young player from Los Angeles who makes the move to a top northern club in England.
The film is a co-production between Milkshake Films and Lawrence Bender, who has produced Quentin Tarantino movies such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.
The £15m movie will start shooting at the end of the year and will be based on a northern team.
Although movie moguls have yet to reveal which club will be involved, producer Mike Jeffries is an admirer of Newcastle United. He said: "Sir Bobby Robson has done a remarkable job there. Newcastle have a great stadium, with great people, with a great sense of humour."
