A £140,000 appeal has been launched to upgrade a hospital's children's ward.
The money is to be spent on building an extension to accommodate a soft-play area, a classroom and dining area at Scarborough General Hospital.
The appeal has been launched by the hospital's League of Friends.
The league said £90,000 had already been pledged from The Mayoress's Community Fund, the Rotary Club and the Fishermen's Wives charity.
