A LUCKY shopper could be £500 richer if their balloon travels the furthest after being released from a shopping centre yesterday.
The Hill Street Centre, in Middlesbrough, hosted the balloon race, in which people put their names and addresses on a ticket provided by the centre.
Hundreds or people have joined in, hoping their balloon will be the one that is found the furthest distance from the town.
The winner will receive vouchers worth £500 and there will also be a prize for the finder.
Two runners-up will receive £100 each to spend at the shopping centre.
