Rising star Steffi Gold is one of the performers at a Midsummer Music Evening, being held at Danby Wiske on Friday, June 20.
The singer will be appearing alongside the Mowbray String Quartet and the Swale Valley Stompers. The event will be held in a marquee at the White Swan Inn and proceeds will go to the endoscopy unit of the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. Tickets are £12 from Northallerton Book Shop, Greensleeves music shop and Northallerton Rotary Club.
GUIDED WALK: Visitors are invited to join a 2.5 mile walk, called Flowers of Dentdale, starting from the Dent National Park car park on Thursday, at 2pm. The stroll will lead along the river between Church Bridge and Barth Bridge, returning along Hall Road. The cost is £2.
CARE SERVICES: Proposals for increased investment in care services for older people will be discussed at a meeting of City of York Council's executive on Thursday, June 3.
ROAD CLOSURE: Motorists are being warned of the closure of the A167 Boroughbridge Road level crossing, in Northallerton, on Wednesday, June 4, from 10.30am to 6am the next day. Pedestrians will have access at all times.
FUN RUN: Mill Hill Community Primary School, Northallerton, is holding a sponsored fun run to raise money for a PE store on Friday, June 6, at 2.30pm.
