PUPILS from 27 primary schools were invited to a cricket workshop to celebrate them achieving sports awards.
The youngsters watched a training session at Chester-le-Street Riverside ground, home of Durham County Cricket Club, to mark their schools winning the North-East's highest number of Sport England Activemark awards.
North-East Sport chairman Don Robson presented the schools with certificates, and the pupils were invited to test their sporting skills.
Judith Rasmussen, regional director for Sport England North-East, said: "This is a glowing reflection of the dedication and achievements of everyone involved in physical education at primary school level."
