SINGING hopefuls from the North-East are being offered the chance to launch their careers through a hit television show.
Auditions for the second Fame Academy are being held at the Old Assembly Rooms, Fenkle Street, Newcastle, on Saturday. Hopefuls will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, from 9am to 7pm, and those attending should be prepared to sing a song of their choice and take along a full-length photograph.
Fame Academy offers students the chance to benefit from intensive training, as well as appearing regularly on prime time television. Last year, it led to chart success for several participants, including overall winner David Sneddon.
A spokesman said: "The most experienced teachers in the business will offer guidance on musical and song writing skills, and the students will be coached and nurtured in their performance style and techniques.
"Once again, profit made from phone lines and record sales from this hit entertainment series will be added to the Fame Academy bursary fund, set up to give thousands of talented performers the chance to pursue their dreams."
