A TEENAGER was killed when his car was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
The 19-year-old, who has not been identified, was driving a black Ford Escort from the Biggin crossroads on the B1222, near Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire, when he collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra.
The accident happened in Bishopdike Road, adjacent to the Somerfield distribution depot, at 10.05pm on Sunday.
The Astra driver, a 30-year-old man from Selby, who was travelling from the Sherburn Industrial Estate, was taken to York District Hospital and treated for chest and foot injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the black Escort travelling in the area at the time to call (01904) 631321.
