Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-18s: Durham City only just failed in a bold attempt to overtake the Boldon total of 185 for one ending with 174 for four on the board.

Maddox was their top performer with the bat scoring 45 and for Boldon Stephen Lamb claimed three of the four wickets to fall for 29 runs in four overs.

Batting first, Boldon also found run making easy and the runs flowed from Richard Potter with 67 not out, Stephen Lamb (55 not out) and Chris Siddell (55).

David Lowther was another youngster in fine form leading Eppleton to a 59-runs victory at Sunderland. He scored 71 not out which together with an unbeaten 40 from Matthew Hooper propelled Eppleton to 158 for one before Sunderland were all out for 99.

Stephen Barnes and Chris Gorge both scored 37 out of the Felling total of 89 for three. Greg Siddell bowled well for South Shields taking two of the three wickets to go down for four runs before the home side won by eight wickets in just 12.1 overs. their match winner with the bat was Michael Dunn who hit nine boundaries in an undefeated 56.

Greg Arundel scored more than half the Marsden total when he contributed 45 to 80 all out as Ian Elliott claimed four wickets for 24 runs in the Whitburn attack. Whitburn won by six wickets as Ross Carty finished undefeated on 33 and for Marsden, Stobbart returned figures of three for 31.

Derek Hall contributed 62 to the Philadelphia total of 96 for three at home to Horden who won by nine wickets. Dixon finished unbeaten on 32 and Watson added 29 to the Horden total.

When Ginza claimed four wickets for 13 runs, South Hetton managed only 38 for nine and Gateshead Fell went on to win by only a ten wickets margin.

At Burnmoor, Chester le Street posted a useful 120 for five which included 38 by James Moorson, 33 from John Coxson and 25 by Bates, while for the home team, Hall returned figures of two for 30. When Daniel Pearson showed form with the bat for Burnmoor scoring 34 the home side won with seven wickets left.

Under-15s

Williamson performed the rare feat of scoring a century when Durham City visited Boldon and won by 124 runs. That they did so was down to Williamson who carried his bat for 103. Parnaby (34) and Parker (32) gave support as Durham City posted 200 for two before reducing Boldon to 76 for four.

The Whitburn batsmen were also in form against Marsden ending on 158 for three, mainly as a result of the efforts of Matthew Wolson (48), Peter Marshall (45 not out) and Andrew Gilbert with 35. When Marshall claimed three wickets for just 17 runs, Marsden were back at the Pavilion with only 48 runs on the board.

Leonard ended with a fine undefeated 62 leading Felling to 102 for three at South Shields, but it was the home side who won conceding only two wickets as Chris Dorothy remained undefeated on 39.

South Hetton pegged Gateshead Fell to 48 for five as John Quarmby captured two wickets for 16 runs in five overs. The target proved easy for South Hetton who won without conceding a wicket in 8.1 overs as Chris Mordue (33) and Chris Wilkin formed an opening unbroken stand worth 49 runs.
