North East Christian Fellowship League: Othe last Saturday of league matches there were no real suprises, Jesmond Parish Church finished the season with a 9-0 thrashing of Stakeford Methodist Church.
Andy Widdring and Tim Hawe notching a hat-trick with goals from Jonathan Cook, Shaun Lackey and David Angier.
Metro Church made certain of second place with a 5-1 win at Consett Methodist. Gareth Hern scored twice with Barnes Harrison and Ditchburn. Andrew Murray scored for Consett.
Stranton Saints, Hartlepool slipped up at home to St Peters Low Fell which keeps them in the top division next season. Steve Reynolds, Tony Nash and a double from Rob Laybourne gave Saints a 4-1 win. Marc Boaggy scored for Hartlepool.
Airport Church Newcastle, who made certain of a top spot a few weeks ago, have collapsed and lost again this week to Ryton Churches. Paul Proud scored a penalty for Airport with Michael McKenna and Alan Ryder scoring in the first five minutes of the second half. Bryan Gilmour wrapped the match up with a lob in the dying minutes for a 3-1 win and a place in the play-off match.
Bethshan Christian Centre went to Whitley Bay Churches and hoping St Peters or Ryton would slip up. Bethshan, led 2-0 at half-time through Damian Par and Mark Langdown, Chris Bowler pulled a goal back for Bay, but Dan Smith got a brace to win 4-1 but miss the play-off spot.
Seeing out the season were Monkwearmouth Christians and Lanchester Chapel, Lanchester ending up with wooden spoon. George Churchill scored four goals for Monkwearmouth with a goal from Sammy Heron. Lanchester's Karl Hepplewhite scored twice with Monkwearmouth winning 5-2.
Second division champions wrapped up their season with a 5-0 win over St Aidans Chapel Castington. David Hepton (2) and Jason Alexander, Mark Kearny and Andrew Huntley getting the others.
Heworth Christian Fellowship won their last match at Yarm Emmanuel, with the march square at 1-1 after 45 minutes, Nick Rowlings scored four goals for them to win 5-3 and meet Ryton Churches in the play-off match.
Keith Vincent opened the scoring, Lee Dale, David McQuillan and Ben Laing scored for Yarm.
Two teams at the bottom finished the season with wins. Second bottom City Church Newcastle beat Middlesbrough Baptists. Leading 2-1 at the break from Paul Bond, he went on to complete his hat-trick with Mojthba Rezale getting a goal and substitute Matt Barron giving City a 5-4 win. Ian Marshall (2) and John Schofield and Gary Jackson scoring for the Boro.
Bottom club Whitley Bay Baptist Church, behind at half time 3-2 to Jesmond Parish Corinthians, had David Hope score five goals with John Gibson getting a sixth which proved the winner. Corinthians had a hat-trick from Scott Martin with a goal each to Thomas Beach and Simon Richardson.
