JOBS prospects in the North-East have been boosted with the announcement of £1.2m of funding for the Building Tyne and Wear scheme.
The project plans to train 800 people during the next two years so that they are qualified to fill vacancies in the construction industry.
The money has been awarded by the regional development agency One NorthEast and administered through the Learning and Skills Council with matched funding European Social Fund Objective 3.
