NEWCASTLE UNITED are back on the trail of Dinamo Kiev midfielder Andriy Husin.
The Magpies watched Husin in action at Sunday's Ukrainian cup final between Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk.
Sir Bobby Robson was interested in the 30-year-old during the transfer window last January.
But as well as running the rule over Donetsk's Nigerian defender Isaac Okoronkwo at the weekend, Newcastle made another check on Husin.
Robson is well covered in midfield but is keeping an eye on Husin, especially with Nobby Solano's Tyneside future uncertain.
Newcastle defender Stephen Caldwell, who becomes a free agent at the end of next month, is still likely to join Rangers this summer - despite interest from Sporting Lisbon.
Caldwell revealed last week that he could yet sign a one-year deal to stay at St James' Park, even though he wants a longer contract.
But if he does decide to walk out on Newcastle, Rangers remain the strong favourites to capture his signature.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to revive their interest in Carl Cort after they were promoted to the Premiership.
Wolves twice failed to sign £7m misfit Cort on loan during the Nationwide League season.
But after three frustrating years for Cort at Newcastle, Robson could be receptive to offers for the striker.
Cort has also been linked with Southampton as a possible makeweight in any deal that would take Wayne Bridge to St James' Park.
