A MOTORIST is recovering after an attack police believe was racially-motivated.
The 44-year-old, who was with his wife at the time, had pulled up at a junction when the driver of the car in front got out, opened his door and punched him repeatedly in the face.
The assault happened on Monday, May 19, at 11.45am, at the junction of Usworth Station Road and Edith Avenue, in Washington, Wearside. Details have just been released.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said the attack was being treated as racially motivated. Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 0191-454 7555, ext 66429.
