A man suffered head injuries in a sustained attack in a packed North-East nightclub.
The 22-year-old, who has not been named, was in Ikon, in New Bridge Street, Newcastle, on Sunday.
Shortly after midnight, two men attacked him. He was hit in the face and forced to the ground, where the pair continued to assault him.
He was later treated in hospital for cuts to his head and right hand.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Newcastle Central CID on 0191-214 6555, ext 62152.
