SOAP stars will be competing with well-known North-East ex-footballers and local league players in a charity competition at the weekend.
The fun football tournament will see members of the cast of the Yorkshire-set series Emmerdale taking on Century Radio's Three Legends, Bernie Slaven, Malcolm McDonald and Eric Gates, who graced the grounds of the North-East's three top teams in their hey-day.
Other teams, including local firefighters and leisure staff, will also be involved in the charity five-a-side event at the District Sports Centre at Meadowfield, near Durham.
Entry for spectators is £1 for adults and 50p for children, with all proceeds going to the Butterwick Hospice appeal.
Kick-off is at 10am, with the final expected to be completed by 4pm. A bar and refreshments are available
