PUB customers will be fearful of a hole in one on the golf course as they could be in for a big round back at their local pub.
Sixteen teams of golfers from the Glendenning Arms, Witton Gilbert, near Durham, are taking part in the charity event at Newton Aycliffe's Woodham course, on Friday.
Proceeds from the day will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Care, a popular charity with customers at the Glendenning Arms.
The event begins at 10.30am and will run through the day, with the thirsty players returning to the Glendenning Arms for a special evening presentation to reward performances on the day.
Landlady Jeanette Ryans said: "Macmillan Cancer Care is a charity which is very close to the hearts of the staff and customers here at the Glendenning Arms and we are hoping to raise a lot of money on the day to boost our fundraising for this important charity even further.
"Naturally, it's par for the course that everyone taking part on the day will have a great time."
Richard Bell, business development manager for the Pubmaster group, which owns the premises, said: "The staff and customers have pulled together a whole series of tremendously successful fundraising events to help their nominated charity and I'm sure this latest one will raise even more money for such a worthy cause."
