FIREFIGHTERS at a North-East airport were rewarded for their long service at an award ceremony yesterday.
Nine members of Teesside International Airport's Fire and Rescue Service, all of whom have served with the service for more than five years, were presented with Golden Jubilee medals, which were awarded by the Queen.
The award winners were Richard Smith, Walter Moore, Alan Carter, David Briggs, Stuart Elliott, Mark Tull, David Rowland, Stephen Dobbin, and Craig Brown.
Six others - David Alderson, Michael Turnbull, Chris Hawkins, Tony Dixon, David Challoner and Alexander Gray - will receive their medals at a later date.
