A YOUNG boy was pulled off his scooter and mugged while he was carrying out an errand for his mother.
The nine-year-old was walking to the Spar shop, in Colburn Lane, Colburn, near Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, when he was attacked by an older boy, who stole £10 from his pocket, on Tuesday lunchtime.
The boy described his attacker as about 13 or 14, 5ft, with straight collar-length hair.
He was wearing a grey, beanie-style hat, blue hooded sweatshirt, black denim jacket and distinctive blue jeans with a red and white pattern on one of the back pockets.
He also said his attacker had a strong accent.
The shopkeeper recalled seeing a youth who fitted the description, only she thought he may be slightly older, with a European look, perhaps Spanish or Italian.
She said that he had a strong Liverpool accent.
Richmond police are appealing for anyone with information to contact detectives on (01609) 783131.
