HUNDREDS of young soccer stars took part in the Darlington Primary Schools Festival of Football.
Twenty-six schools took part in the annual cup final and there was also a girls' competition and league champions final.
North Road school beat Hurworth Primary School in the final 3-0, with Lee Gibbon scoring a hat-trick.
The team from Hurworth House collected the fair-play trophy.
It was a double success for North Road, with victory in the schools league. Abbey Road Primary School won the first-ever girls trophy after beating Mowden in the final. Redhall were awarded the fair-play trophy.
Organiser Paul Bielby said: "The 430 Darlington children have had the opportunity to represent their schools at our annual primary school festival and their enthusiasm, teamwork and ability has been excellent. The girls tournament will now become an annual event and we are particularly delighted with their achievements."
