SOME of the greatest names in the rock world have brought visitors flocking to one of the region's imposing stately homes.
The National Trust-owned Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley, North Yorkshire, is hosting an exhibition by one of the world's top rock photographers.
Over the years, Gered Mankowitz has taken pictures of many rock icons and was once the official photographer of the Rolling Stones.
Crowds are already visiting Nunnington to see 56 of his pictures and some screen prints, which are on show at at the hall until June 22.
"We like our exhibitions to be major ones and this has never been seen in Yorkshire before, having only visited Glasgow and London," said property manager Simon Lee yesterday.
"There's everyone from McCartney, Hendrix and Clapton to Suzy Quatro and Slade."
Later this summer, the hall will be the setting for an exhibition of work by Beatrix Potter.
* Signed prints of the Mankowitz portraits are available for sale from the exhibition at £25 to £1,300.
