A project to revamp the area outside a shopping precincts has been completed.
Costing £150,000, the scheme at Colburn, near Richmond, has been a joint effort between Richmondshire District Council, the town council and retailers.
The pedestrian area on Broadway has been repaved and the car park resurfaced and enlarged.
Twelve additional parking spaces have been created, and there are designated parking areas for disabled people and for mothers with young children.
Benches and planters stocked with flowers have been installed and provision has also been made for a Christmas tree during the festive season.
The Mayor of Colburn, Peter Wood, said: "I have been getting very positive feedback from the residents of Colburn and I think it looks wonderful."
