A PARISH council has objected to a plan to extend a Listed hotel.
Corus and Regal Hotels, owners of the Hall Garth Hotel and Country House, in Coatham Mundeville, wants to build a 54-bedroom extension.
The main part of the hotel is Grade II-Listed, as well as the mill buildings at the main entrance.
Coatham Mundeville Parish Council has objected to the proposal, saying it will have a dominating and detrimental effect on the surrounding area.
The council was also concerned that there would be an increase in traffic on the Brafferton Lane and A167 junction, which it believed was a hazard.
Darlington Borough Council officers have recommended that permission be granted subject to conditions.
Councillors will make a decision on Wednesday.
