SCENES of France will fill the region's newest art gallery when it opens this weekend.
North-East artist David Welsh opens his new gallery and studio in Blandford Square, St James Boulevard, Newcastle, on Sunday at 1pm - displaying soft pastel and oil paintings inspired by his love of France, especially Provence.
The gallery also features a bohemian courtyard with awning, where coffee will be served.
Mr Welsh, of Felling, Gateshead, said: "My vision for my new gallery is not only to contribute to the art and culture of Newcastle and Gateshead, but also to exhibit my own work and exhibitions of visiting artists.
