THE Environment Centre in Stockton is aiming to tackle global problems on a local scale.
The recently refurbished centre offers residents from across the borough the chance to do their bit for the environment and save money at the same time.
Offers at the moment include free low energy light bulbs to any residents on a qualifying benefit and grants of up to £2,500 for cavity wall and loft insulation for qualifying households.
Other offers include a fridge saver scheme offering replacement fridges for £35 and fridge freezers for £60 to anyone on a qualifying benefit.
