A consultation exercise is to be carried out to produce a traffic management strategy for Easingwold. Leaflets describing the options are being delivered locally and a two-week exhibition will be held at the Galtres Centre from next Friday.
County councillor Peter Sowray said: "I am anxious to stress that the community's views will count. This is the opportunity to have a say in the future of traffic management in Easingwold."
FOOTBALL FUN DAY: Female football players from York can test their skills at a Girls' Football Fun Day on Sunday. The event is open to girls wanting to try the sport and to teams. It takes place at Hopgrove Playing Fields, in the city's Malton Road, from 10am.
COUNTRY FAIR: Middleham Key Centre will hold a country fair on Sunday, between 10am and 4pm. Parking is available and admission is free.
WALK DATE: A walk visiting historic sites in Lythe, near Sandsend, will take place next Friday, starting at 10am. There is a £3 charge and participants will be given notes and illustrations of each site. To book a place, call (01904) 430680.
HORSE WHISPERER: Adam Goodfellow will demonstrate his technique for calming horses at the Rose Cottage Equestrian Centre, in Haxby, near York, from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday. The event has been sponsored by the Brooke Hospital for Animals. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s. ROOF DECISION: A scheme to improve security at a livestock market has been approved, despite fears that it would block out light. Plans to reroof Malton Livestock Market were approved by Ryedale district councillors.
