AN E-FIT description of a bogus caller who preyed upon two elderly women this week has been released by police.
Two men escaped with a quantity of cash after conning their way in to the homes of their victims by claiming to be waterboard officials.
Both women live in Tow Law, and police have renewed their appeal for witnesses, who may have seen the two men in the area on Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 3pm.
Det Con Marco Fantin said: "Both ladies have given a very good description of one of the men who has fair hair and this is seen in the E-Fit."
The men are both believed to be white, aged about 20-30, and both were wearing green jackets.
One man is about 5ft 8ins - 6ft with dark hair and of big build. The other was smaller in size and build and had fair hair.
Witnesses should contact Det Con Fantin at Crook Police on (01388) 762011.
