THREE members of a family have earned their stripes in the Scouts for amassing a combined 120 years' service.
Fred Gettings, his twin sister Freda, and her husband, Dennis Ford, have received awards for their long service with Cleveland Scout Council.
Mr Ford, 60, from Nunthorpe, is group Scout leader with the 7th Middlesbrough Air Scout Group, where Mr Gettings, 57, is an assistant leader. Mrs Ford, a former Brownie and Guide, who joined the Scouts movement when she was 18, is Assistant County Commissioner with Cleveland Scout Council.
She and her husband were presented with bars to the Silver Acorn awards.
Mr Gettings, from Redcar, was awarded the Silver Acorn by County Commissioner David Clark. The awards were presented at the East Middlesbrough District weekend camp in Commondale, North Yorkshire.
