DETECTIVES are warning pensioners living in Stockton and Billingham to be on the look-out for bogus callers following a spate of distraction burglaries.
There were a number of burglaries on Friday.
The burglaries involve two men who said they were water board officials.
In each case one man chatted to the pensioner while the other stole cash.
One was 20 to 30 years old, slim and about 5ft 11in to 6ft. He wore a blue T-shirt and dark trousers.
The other man was in his early 30s and wore a grey shirt.
Both were of medium build and at least one had an Irish accent.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable David Wiles on (01642) 392239.
