Durham City maintained their unbeaten record when they visited Bishop Auckland and went to the top of the table after they only dropped half a point. The Bishops went down 69 to 91.

Central Ladies Pairs Championship
Kathleen Curry and Barbara Scorer of Durham City landed the title when they beat Doreen Webster and Hazel Taylor of Mainsforth in the final of the competition played at Brandon. There were 27 entries. The winner and runners-up awards will be presented at the League Luncheon at Willington Kensington on Wednesday, October 1.
In the semis, Kathleen Curry and Barbara Scorer beat Linda Flowers and Pam Wood of Brandon, whilst Doreen Webster and Hazel Taylor beat Doreen McWilliams and Mary Sutton of Durham City.
