THE most successful primary school football team in Darlington's history has won its third cup of the season.
The Darlington Primary Schools football squad, which is made up of pupils from across the borough, has proved to be a real winner.
The team finished their successful season by winning the Durham County Trophy.
Team manager Tony Cox said: "These youngsters are a credit to their town, schools and families and their success has been achieved with good teamwork and tremendous enthusiasm.
"They are the best in Northern England and Darlington is proud of them."
The squad was: Nicholas Petch (captain) from St Bedes, Jack Johns, Mathew Carnelley, Sam Newton and Lee Gibbon from North Road, Joe Clare and Grant Nuttall from Gurney Pease, Jonathan Blewitt from Mowden, Andrew Kelly from Abbey, Jack Binks and Josh Knox from Hurworth House, Craig Swainston from Firthmoor, Nathan Wilson from Dodmire, Mark Grey from Heathfield, Dean Bland from Bishopton/Redmarshall and Matthew York from Middleton St George.
