POLICE are urging pensioners to watch out after two elderly sisters fell victim to thieves.
A man and a woman got away with a handbag containing £170 from a house in East Street, Blackhall.
The sisters, aged 87 and 73, had returned from shopping and were unloading bags when a young woman who said she was pregnant asked to use their toilet.
One woman showed her into the house while her sister continued unloading the shopping.
Meanwhile, the woman's accomplice crept in through the open front door and found the handbag lying in the front room.
The incident happened on Friday lunchtime and police are appealing for witnesses.
The woman was 5ft 2in, in her early 20s, slim, with shoulder-length brown hair.
Her accomplice was 5ft 6in, with short or shaved brown hair. He was of average build.
The pair drove off in a red car.
Witnesses are asked to call 0191-586 2621.
