Wider community use of a 137-year-old chapel and its adjoining schoolroom will be looked at in a feasability study.
A decision on the future of Grewelthorpe Methodist Chapel, near Ripon, is expected at the end of this year.
Ripon area Superintendent Methodist Minister the Reverend Graham Sturdy, said a range of options would be looked at. He said funding for the feasability study had been applied for from the Churches Regional Commission.
