ONE of the world's most famous motorcycle stunt teams will be among the highlights of this year's open day at Britain's biggest military base.
The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team, better known as the White Helmets, will be in action at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, on Saturday, June 21.
Other highlights will include a spectacular freefall display by members of 4 Para.
The garrison commander, Colonel Jonny Hackett, said that although many Catterick soldiers would be in the Gulf, there were still many attractions they could put on.
"Despite the commitments which the soldiers have to endure we always look forward to putting on a first-class open day not only for the local community but the wider population in North and West Yorkshire."
The open day takes place between 10am and 5pm, at Marne Barracks, just off the A1. Prices are likely to be £5 per car, £1 for pedestrians and 50p for children.
