TWO charities have been given a boost by the former chairman of Richmondshire District Council, James Kendall.
The North Yorkshire branch of Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Northallerton and District Diabetic Association received £3,116 between them, which had been raised at various social functions during Coun Kendall's year as chairman.
Individual donations to the charities have already been distributed. Coun Kendall, who thanked donors, presented representatives from both charities with the remainder of the money - £1,249 each.
