YOUNGSTERS from Darlington were given the chance to test the latest equipment at a free two-day skateboarding event.
Staff from Darlington Borough Council organised the half-term event at the Eastbourne Sports Complex in Darlington, for the many young fans of skateboarding, BMX biking and roller blading and skating.
As well as having the chance to try out various new stunts on the ramps and equipment provided, the young people talked to council staff and were given the chance to give their views on the skateboarding facilities and public transport in the town.
Dozens of youngsters turned up for the event and many of them used the free bus service from the town centre and villages to get them to the sports complex.
A spokesman for the council said the event had been a great success and everyone enjoyed it.
