A PANTOMIME promoting food hygiene is being performed by local children.
Pupils from Durham High School for Girls are staging the show at primary schools throughout the area after winning a competition set by Durham City Council's environmental health section.
They had to produce and perform a 15-minute pantomime with a food hygiene theme for five to 11-year-olds.
The Durham High School entrants called their drama Snow White and the Seven Germs.
The group won £250 for their school and the chance to perform their play in front of pupils at ten primary schools, this week.
Councillor Fraser Reynolds said: "The Snow White play will fascinate youngsters and remind them of the importance of keeping clean.
"Durham High School has worked extremely hard, and with our environmental team will get over the message to hundreds of schoolchildren in a memorable way."
The winning pupils are: Sophie Cronin, Charlotte Donkin, Sophie Hutchins, Catherine Jones, Stephanie Morton, Sarah Porter, Ilar Shariatmadari, Charlotte Vallily, Sarah Cook, Sophie Daniels, Hannah Fulford, Marissa Granath, Emma Hall, Emily NcNamee, Katherine Purvis, Charlotte Williams and Victoria Sowerby.
