A FLOWER festival to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, will be held later this month.
The Methodist Church, in Consett, will host the festival called The World is My Parish, from Friday to Sunday, June 27 to 29.
The opening service will be held on the Friday with superintendent minister, the Reverend Stephen Dallin, presiding. The Methodist Brampton Choir will also perform.
A coffee morning takes place the next day, between 10am and 11.30am. It will be followed by lunches and afternoon teas. The flowers will be on display between 10am and 4.30pm.
The festival ends on the Sunday with a family service at 10.30am, afternoon teas and a Wesley Songs of Praise service at 6pm.
