A CONCERT is taking place on board HM Bark Endeavour at the weekend.
The Endeavour Orchestra and Chamber Choir, based at the University of Durham Queen's Campus, Stockton, were established two years ago by students Helen Mann and Hannah Elliott, who will be performing with the orchestra and choir for the last time on Sunday as they are both set to graduate this summer.
Helen said: "Hannah and I set up the orchestra and choir because we both love music and there were no music societies at the campus before we arrived.
"We adopted the name Endeavour because it represented something important to the area.
"I used to walk past HM Bark Endeavour on my way into Stockton and I thought it was the perfect name, especially as some of the orchestra are not students, but local residents.
"Where better to play my final Endeavour Orchestra concert than on board the ship we were named after.
"It is going to be a memorable night for the students and the local community."
The Endeavour Orchestra will be performing on board HM Bark Endeavour on Sunday, at 7.30pm.
The concert is free, but all donations made on the night will go to HM Bark Endeavour, which is a registered charity.
