A CARERS' centre has been awarded the Government's Disability Symbol for its commitment to helping people with disabilities.
Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre in Northallerton will be able to use the symbol on all its documents.
The Department of Work and Pensions made the award recognising the support the centre provides with recruitment, employment, retention and carer development.
Director of the centre Lyn Webb-Thorius said: "We have put good employment practices in place to uphold the employment right of disabled people.
"I am pleased that permission to use this symbol recognises our achievements and demonstrates our commitment in this field."
The award will be presented to the centre at a coffee morning next Thursday, by Alison Rawcliffe, the Jobcentre Plus disability service team manager.
