A TRIANGULAR mosaic created by residents of a close community has completed the picture in their open space.
After six months of hard work, the spectacular artwork is now on show at the Millennium Green community open space, behind Leeman Road, in York.
Residents young and old were helped by community artist Margaret Murphy, from Rural Arts in Thirsk, to design and create the 12ft by 14ft mosaic.
She said: "What the community group wanted was something permanent and special, and so I worked with them to make this mosaic, which features pictures of the local church, school and pub. They were absolutely delighted with the result and so was I - it is a beautiful work of art."
Mrs Murphy has been working as a community artist for about seven years and said that this type of work in communities is very rewarding.
"I was there to teach them, encourage them and help them and the end result is fabulous. It is a great feeling to be able to pass your skills on to other people," she said.
