TWO voluntary groups have been presented with Queen's Golden Jubilee awards marking their outstanding contribution to local communities.
The Junction, in Harrogate, and York Students in Schools (YSIS) have both been honoured with the award after being among 277 organisations across the UK to be shortlisted in April.
The prestigious award recognises the achievements of groups who volunteer their own time to improve the quality of live and opportunities for others in their community.
The Junction provides support, education and advice to people with special needs, while YSIS places university students into schools to support the teachers and children.
